King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-31

Another day much below expectations (and the model) in King County yesterday. Could this be a trend? I’m excited about the results. King County came in at 171 yesterday, much below the model’s predictions, and the number of tests conducted were about 2/3 of the highs of last week. %

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-29

Only 82 infections reported today in King County, which is great. However, there were only about 1/3 of the normal number of test results published. There must have been some sort of delay in test results. In the past few days, there have been about 1,500 test results reported and

249 infections yesterday, pretty significantly above the model. The model is showing some real power at this point with an r-squared of 0.8347. It’s predicting 231 tomorrow and 300 per day by next week. 15.8% of all tests were positive yesterday. That’s really high compared to the rest of the

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-27

Another record day in King County blew out the model’s prediction of 168: 251 reported today in King County. However, the governor is correct in that the rate of growth is slowing down. It is going to take 7 days to double from where we were last week. It’s still

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-26

The past few days have turned out pretty much what was expected. The past two days saw a significant drop in infections reported (107 and 82) due to the 3 day lag from weekend tests, and then today spiked up to 218, the highest day on record. None of this

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-23

Sometimes, the model just nails it. The model said 127, and the county came in at 130. Not bad. What is bad: 5 straight days above 100 infections for King County. The model calls for 138 tomorrow, however, based on the weekly “seasonality” of dips due to weekend testing, I’m

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-22

I didn’t get the site updated in time for today’s number. The model said 122. King County came in at 106, the 4th straight day at or above 100. Tomorrow the model’s guess is 127, continuing to increase. I think it will be the 5th straight day of 100+ infections.

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-20

Today was the second straight day of at least 100 reported infections (coming in at 100 on the nose). The model was very close. Doubling appears to be happening every 5-6 days. The model predicts 200 infections-per-day by April 1 – not good. The prediction for tomorrow’s number is 98.

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-19

This was the day I was expecting all week. 131 infections reported – more than double the model’s estimate. Here’s my explanation of what may have happened: Could there be a 3-day (+ more !!!) lag in getting results? Let’s play this out. The past two days had very low

King County Coronavirus Daily Prediction: 3-18

It’s so unfortunate that there were 10 deaths reported today. However, it’s good news that there were only 44 reported infections. The past few days have had significantly fewer reported infections. That’s good news. I hope it is indicative of real trends and not just poor testing. The daily model
